Murat Ayçin will be attending this year’s ITE Mid-Colonial District Annual Conference, to be held at the Pier 5 Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland on Sunday, April 23 through Tuesday, April 25, 2017.
In addition to the technical program, which includes presentations on autonomous and connected vehicles, travel demand forecasting, multi modal modeling and smart cities, there is a Sunday afternoon Technical Workshop on Alternative Intersection Evaluation using HCM 2016
Over the past few years, a number of state and local agencies throughout the country have adopted alternative intersection and interchange concepts in place of traditional signalized intersections. The latest edition of the HCM includes an exclusive chapter on Ramp Terminals & Alternative Intersections that covers performance measures, LOS and operational and safety benefits of alternative intersection treatments. This workshop will include an overview of alternative intersections and interchanges, Performance and LOS measures, and case studies associated with alternative intersection evaluation.
