Transportation Modeling Workshop and Expo
Nairobi, June 19-21, 2019
Introduction
Aimsun and TIMCON Associates are collaborating on a three-day Transportation Modeling Workshop and Expo, from June 19 – 21 2019, Nairobi, Kenya.
The training will introduce the participants to basic modeling concepts and answer the following questions:
- What is modeling?
- When is modeling necessary?
- How do you apply modeling successfully in a project?
- Where has modeling been applied in Kenya and the Region?
- Who are the model vendors?
- What modeling software platforms are available?
Specifically, the training will provide an overview of simulation theory including random number generators, probability distributions and modeling systems and delve into greater detail of model
development, calibration and validation and interpreting model outputs.
The workshop will also showcase situations where modeling has been applied in recent projects in Kenya and the East African
Region.
